Hello and Welcome!
Welcome to my webpage! We’re new on the art scene, my website and me, and we’re still finding our way. Family and friends having been encouraging me for some time to get my work out there. It’s a scary process. Like so many artists it seems, I never think my work is good enough or trendy enough, or it will never be as good as the work by artists I admire.
Syliva Plath once wrote that “the worst enemy to creativity is self-doubt”.
With me, the urge to paint is too strong to let the doubt cripple me completely, but it has held me back from sharing and promoting my work, and from considering myself a true artist.
But it’s also the self criticism that keeps me striving to do better and challenging myself.
I also feel that sometimes you just have to ignore the fear and do it anyway, knowing that you are never going to please everyone. Art is far too subjective, so you would be setting yourself an impossible task. If a piece of my work brings a smile to just one face, brings joy to no more than one person or merely adds a little colour to someone’s home, I will have succeeded.
